Say what?

Here it is October 22, 2007 in Texas and, hold on to your hat, we are experiencing a "cool" front.  YEAH, a cool front.  It's actually somewhere in the high 50's right now and it's wet and windy too.  Unbelieveable, I know but it is.  Fall weather when it's actually Fall.  The kicker?  We're supposed to hit the 80's by the end of this week.

Tucker has really hit a growth spurt.  His legs got longer but his waist is small so finding pants that fit lately are the bain of my existence.  He literally has only ONE pair of jeans and I'm staring the Fall/Winter season in the face.  His shirts are shorter.  He can no longer fit into his 24mos shirts (wow go figure he's turning THREE mom!).  I don't even think 2T is going to work for us.  The boy needs new clothes.

Carsen also needs clothes.  I don't know where Tucker's hand me down's went but even if I did find them I'm certain that window is closed.  Carsen is in 6 to 9 months and Tucker wasn't wearing that size during the winter.  I can't win.  So, I guess it's time to hit the consignment shops and garage sales.  We're on a reallly TIGHT budget so I HAVE to find these clothes fast!

Moving on...

Did I mention I've been taking Wilton Cake decorating classes?  Yep, for the past 2.5 months I've been discovering a new passion.  Course three is two tier cakes and fondant.  I'm finally working with fondant.  Wednesday I actually get to make fondant roses.  I'm a bit intimidated.  I may use my Wilton fondant, although I did make my own Marshmellow Fondant.  MMF tastes a heck of a lot better than Wilton's fondant, I'm told.

I have NEVER worked with fondant.  I don't know WHAT it's supposed to feel like.  So, here I am making my own fondant with no prior experience and I have no idea if I did it correctly.   ACK!!!   I requested samples from online from two different places.  I received a few samples from one place but not enough to say "yes, I did it correctly."  What am I going to do?

You don't really EAT fondant flowers unless you're the type of person who REALLY has a sweet tooth.  Fondant is really for show.  I"m told most people peel it off cakes.  That right there just sounds gross to me.  Why make a cake if it doesn't taste good?  That being said, there is fondant that taste good, i.e. MMF.  Now that tastes good!

Cha Cha Changes!

Carsen is 6 months old and weighs approximately 20 lbs.  He's my BIG boy.  He's such a charming little man with a fantastic smile and great expressions.  He's finally rolling over and sitting up for long periods of time.  It's so wonderful to see these accomplishments.  He's sooooo kissable. Tucker certainly can't get enough of him either.

I've turned a corner here with Carsen.  I had to use the last of my frozen milk "stash" to make up for the missed pumping sessions yesterday (Carsen was home with the pink eye).  So, in light of that  I also sent him to daycare with formula.  Yep, formula.  I still pump but I'm not getting a lot.  I instructed Emily to mix 1 to 2 oz of formula with his regular 4 oz bottle of breast milk.  I haven't been producing enough milk and despite my best efforts, the fenugreek did not help me one iota!

So not only is Carsen getting some formula, he's also getting a 2 oz increase of milk.  I'm hoping that will stretch out his feedings.

He hasn't been sleeping through the night and I suspect it's because he only fed off one side of me and hence getting hungier sooner.  So, keeping that in mind, when he woke up at 12:30 am I gave him both sides and he slept right through his usual 2am wake up call.  Of course, by 4:30 am he wanted to nurse again.

I debated on whether I should give him both sides.  One side = Him waking up at 6am or both sides and he wakes up around 7ish.  He fell asleep before I could offer the other side.  That was fine by me.  I crawled into be and slept until 6:15 am.  Still not enough time to recuperate. *yawn*  (As I nodd off here at the keyboard... AT WORK.)

Today Tucker knocked his brother out of his bouncie seat
